Elon, a Crow & the Colosseum 🐦‍⬛🏛️
Elon Musk stands before the Colosseum. On his hand sits a single black crow. CAW's symbol is a crow. When the image reached X, the community lit up — holders and overseas influencers saved it, quoted it with #CAW, and passed it around as proof that Elon was holding the crow in his own hand. Within hours, one picture had become part of CAW's mythology. Its origin was always told the same way: an AI-art creator, Dima Zeniuk (@DimaZeniuk), posted it in January 2025 with the caption 'Iconic photo of Elon Musk at the Colosseum in Rome' — a riff on the 2023 Musk–Zuckerberg cage-fight talk, which the press kept attaching to the Colosseum. (Worth keeping straight: Musk himself said only that an 'epic location' in Italy had been agreed with the prime minister and the culture minister. That minister, Gennaro Sangiuliano, said after their call that the event 'will not be held in Rome.' The Colosseum was the retelling's word, not the plan.) The crow, the story went, was just a prop for his unsettling persona. Nothing to see. But open that post and a different picture is hanging there. The caption matches, the date matches, and the image does not: Elon inside the Colosseum, phone raised, tourists in frame. No crow anywhere. So where the crow version came from is not known — not who made it, not when it first appeared. As of July 28, 2026, the observatory has not been able to trace it. We came to file this away as a textbook case of a community manufacturing meaning out of unrelated material. The material itself has gone missing. 🐦‍⬛
