The Hand That Trimmed to 7.1 Trillion — Rounded to the Last Wei, Unmoved Since June 2022
In CAW's very first days, one hand bought, let go of everything, bought back larger — and then, seven weeks later, shaved off the change and stopped at a round 7.1 trillion. It has not moved since. ❶ Address 0xFf22…a952 holds exactly 7,100,000,000,000 CAW (7.1T) — no remainder even at the eighteenth decimal, not one wei off (as of July 31, 2026). ❷ It was gathered in the LBP (CAW's first public sale) over April 14–15, 2022, in five buys totalling 10.4 ETH. Midway through, at 10:13 UTC on April 14, it sold the entire holding of that moment — 1,810,159,470,714 CAW — back into the pool for about 1.95 ETH, then bought back larger a few hours later. About 31% of the final stack arrived on day two, April 15. ❸ Then at 00:23 UTC on June 6, 2022, it sold only the change on Uniswap — 283,392,453,288 CAW, about 3.8% of the holding — for about 20.54 ETH, leaving exactly 7.1 trillion behind. The record of movement stops there: more than four years, untouched (as of July 31, 2026). 🔍 Observatory: this hand did let go — twice, and both times are on the record. So it is not a story about never selling. All we can read is the ledger of balance and movement; why it came to rest on 7.1 trillion, only they can say (intent unverified). Still, there is a quiet resolve in a hand that pared the remainder away to the last wei to land on a round number, and has left it alone ever since. There is no promise of gains here. Only one calm fact: a hand that decided 7.1 trillion was enough is still there, four years on. 🐦‍⬛
