'Free Speech' — The Eagle on the Splintering Signpost

This political cartoon has nothing to do with CAW by origin — it's a Peter Schrank illustration drawn for a political debate. But someone in the CAW Army quoted it on X as a 'hint,' and the community spun it into a festival. Two stretch-interpretation hooks fuel the read. ❶ The black bird (crow) motif: CAW's official logo and symbol is a crow (Crow) — the very name 'CAW' comes from a crow's cry, so CAW holders reacted to the dark bird at the centre: 'is that meant to be CAW?' Set against the picture, though, the reading thins. The bird is an eagle and it is not all black: red beak, red legs, yellow eye, and wing feathers drawn as the stylised black bars of the German federal eagle — the Bundesadler. It stands on a two-armed signpost, FREE SPEECH on one side and HATE SPEECH on the other, and it is the HATE SPEECH arm that is splintering. Read as drawn, the cartoon is about where a country draws that line — Germany's coat of arms is doing the standing. ❷ 'FREE SPEECH' ↔ Elon Musk: CAW is rumored to involve Elon Musk, owner of X (formerly Twitter). When Musk acquired X, he consistently championed the 'absolute defense of FREE SPEECH' as his reform banner. So the community makes a leap: 'Break FREE SPEECH and society collapses' = Musk's own thesis; 'and at its center reigns a black bird (CAW)' = an encrypted hint that Musk, after X's blue bird, is seeding CAW as the symbol of free speech. 🔍 Observatory: The image is purely Peter Schrank's work for political commentary — nothing more. But once an influencer or holder spotted the CAW-convenient overlap of 'black bird' + 'FREE SPEECH (Elon Musk)' and spread it on X, the community decided 'this too might be a sign' and lit up on its own.
