Born of three threads — the #2 whale mystery
In a single block (14:22 UTC), roughly 1.48 ETH arrived simultaneously from three separate wallets, and a new wallet was born. Two months later, in September, the first ~7.8T arrived as plain small transfers from around fifty separate wallets — just over half of it (4.28T) brought in by wallets that had been stacking small split buys on Uniswap V2 and 1inch just beforehand; the wallet itself has never traded on a DEX. It went on to become the largest holder outside the burn address, the DEX pool, and presumed exchange wallets (20.65T = 3.098%, as of July 31, 2026 — the balance keeps slipping as the wallet sends out daily). From October 2024 onward, every one of the 19 subsequent inflows came from a single sender — 0x3cc9…cf18, classified by this Observatory as MEXC (est., #1) — totalling 299.6T, 92.5% of lifetime inflow (tallied Jul 28, 2026); small inflows from many addresses resumed in June 2026. Since November 2024 it has also been sending — a steady stream of small outbound transfers running alongside the inflows, so accumulation and release have been happening at once (as of July 28, 2026 both were still running). Who, and why — the identity remains unverified. The Observatory is tracing the three threads upstream. 🐦⬛
